For centuries, the people from Gävle, a small town on the Baltic coast of Sweden, have fished these waters, surrounded by stunning scenery and the vast sea beyond. But life in this region is challenging, with harsh winds and heavy snowfall for most of the year.

At Skargaarden, there is an understanding of the the importance of embracing every second of sunlight during the fleeting Scandinavian summer. By appreciating the beauty and brevity of these precious moments and aiming to capture them in every piece that is made. Skargaarden collaborates with talented designers from Sweden, Denmark, and Finland with the goal to honor the Scandinavian design tradition while incorporating influences from American Shaker and Bauhaus movements. While prioritising superior craftsmanship, durability, and a sense of ease in their furniture, Skargaarden believes in the “less is more” philosophy and values quality over quantity to elevate simplicity to a sublime level.
